Could You Be A Successful Affiliate?
Ever thought you could make a reasonable living online with a hobby or with specialized knowledge you possess? It’s possible, but you’ll need to be determined to succeed.
Many successful internet marketers describe their ordinary schooling (Andrew Fox), or difficult backgrounds and challenges – Ross Goldberg and Steve Pavlina are two good examples.
Don’t assume these guys are aren’t smart. I think this is about the only pattern that emerges from a study of most of them. They are smart – so if you’re not also pretty clever, dedicated to detail and interested in everything web, having an interesting hobby probably isn’t going to be enough.
Enjoy Learning and Enjoy Working
Quite apart from learning about sales and marketing online, affiliate marketers must be prepared to either learn the technical side of their sales engines (websites), or at the very least be prepared to understand them enough to know when the website technical work they’ve outsourced is being delivered back to them at an adequate standard. Either way the new affiliate marketer must be prepared for an education.
How do I know this? I know because I am one of those technicians who is asked every day by internet marketers of all levels to help solve technical problems with sites, perform SEO and implement marketing ideas.
I’ve done so much of this for other people, I now want to use my technical skills to set up my own affiliate sales engine and this website is about everything I discover about that project.
Affiliate Questions is going to be organised in a number of stepped categories. On the left you can see the categories listed – these will grow over time as I track my progress and they’ll be labelled helpfully so you can find what you’re looking for on your affiliate journey.
I’ve bought a number of affiliate training programs and this is my first lesson to you, dear reader (;-)). Don’t buy any more training programs. It is time to start doing stuff. The more training you buy, the more you’re likely to know in theory, the more time you’ll waste and the less you’ll achieve.
This site will tell you what order to do things in, when and may point to resources that help you do it.
Today, as I write this post, this blog receives no traffic of any consequence. I will post my traffic graphs in another category every week.
